Sekhukhune United advanced to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup following their 2-1 win over Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Babina Noko started the game on a high note and took the lead in the first minute, through Elias Mokwana which put Babina Noko ahead.
The visitors put the home team under pressure from the outset and continued to hold most of the ball during the first 20 minutes of the game.
However, The Chilli Boys leveled matters in the 17th minute following a quick counter-attacking move from Etiosa Ighodaro.
The rest of the first half was dominated by an intense midfield battle with restricted entry into the attacking third at both ends.
The second breakthrough for Babina Noko came in the 43rd minute through Chibuike Ohizu who gave Sekhukhune United a crucial lead on the stroke of halftime.
With the clock winding down Chippa United FC remained progressive on the ball during the closing stages of regulation time but struggled to penetrate the Babina Noko backline.
