Babina Noko grabs maximum points in the Limpopo Derby

Sekhukhune United Football Club proved too strong for their Limpopo rivals Marumo Gallants FC on Tuesday evening with a convincing 3-2 victory at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium in the DStv Premiership encounter.

Babina Noko started the game on a high note, with the deadlock broken by Chibuike Ohizu after capitalizing on Bahlabane Ba Ntwa ‘s goalkeeper Washington Arubi ‘s error, to make it 1-0 to the host just 27 minutes into the game.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa managed to equalize immediately from the restart, to go level at the break. The hosts managed to double their lead in the 48th minute when Victor Letsoalo beat his marker before scoring to make it 2-1 to Babina Noko, 60minutes into the second half with the tempo high, chances continued to present themselves for the home team.

Letsoalo scored his second 14th minutes before the final whistle, when he beat Marumo Gallant’s high line, to smartly slot home with the advancing keeper, to make it 3-1 to Sekhukhune United.

The result moves Babina Noko up to 12th place on the league standings with 15 points while Bahlabane Ba Ntwa remains 14th on the log with 13 points.

In the end, Babina Noko was able to secure three valuable points in the first Limpopo derby of the season.

Sekhukhune United Football Club will return to DStv Premiership action on the 7th of January 2023 where they visit Kaizer Chiefs Football Club at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening at 20:00
