Babina Noko shifts focus to DSTV Premiership

With only one game remaining before the FIFA break, Sekhukhune United Football Club will welcome Chippa United FC for the second-round DStv Premiership encounter this Saturday afternoon at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane at 15:30.

With less than 9 games remaining in the campaign, both sides are desperate for a turnaround in fortunes after losing their previous games. Babina Noko will look to bounce back after being stunned by Cape Town City FC and Royal AM FC respectively.

While the Chilli Boys will be looking to avoid consecutive defeats after losing 2-0 to AmaZulu at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last weekend, the loss was their third in the last four league fixtures.

Babina Noko has accumulated 18 points from 10 home games so far this season which is 5 victories, 3 draws, and 2 defeats.

Sekhukhune United FC is currently in 11th position in the DStv Premiership table after amassing 27 points from 22 games, while The Chilli Boys are in 13th position with 24 points accumulated from the same number of games. Babina Noko is 3 points ahead of The Chilli Boys in the DStv Premiership League Log standings.

It will be the fourth meeting between these sides. The two teams last met last on 18 October 2022 at Chatsworth Stadium season where The Chilli Boys walked away with a victory courtesy of Etiosa Ighodaro in the 27th minute of the game.

The question is, will Babina Noko be able to bounce back from back-to-back league defeats?
