A triumphant victory by Babina Noko
Babina Noko clinched the 2020 / 21 GladAfrica Championship with a 1 – 3 victory over JDR Stars. A game that produced quality football accompanied by wonderful goals.
Going into the match it was all to play for, for both teams. Babina Noko was looking to secure a victory to win the championship while the host still had an opportunity to qualify for a playoff spot.
Yusuf Maart with his consecutive man of the match performance scored a stunning opening goal, while JDR equalized on the stroke of halftime. Both teams went into the break 1 all with all to play for.
Babina Noko commenced the second half on the front foot and was rewarded with goals by Thabang Sibonyoni and Thabang Kobela in the 50th & 82nd minute respectively. The game ended 1 – 3 to the visitors, which effectively gave us 53 points with a massive advantage on goal difference. The result crowns Babina Noko as Champions of the 2020/21 GladAfrica Championship.
