An emphatic victory for Babina Noko

Sekhukhune Football Club proved to be too strong for their Limpopo rivals Baroka FC on Sunday evening as they hammered them 4-0 at the Emirates Airline Park in the DStv Premiership encounter.

Babina Noko started the game on a high note. The deadlock was broken by Justin Shonga as he turned Yusuf Maart’s cross to make it 1-0 to the host just three minutes into the game.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele tried to respond with a goal, but Babina Noko’s defense stood firm. The hosts managed to double their lead in the 24th minute when Victor Ohizu beat his marker before scoring to make it 2-0 to Babina Noko.

54th  minutes into the second half the tempo was high; chances continue to come for the home team as they keep applying pressure on the visitors.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele’s Goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze made a blunder when he came out and kicked the ball which rebounded off Tshediso Patjie, before hitting the upright, allowing Ohizu to score with a simple tap eight minutes after the hour-mark to make it 3-0 to Sekhukhune.

The game was sealed by substitute Vusimuzi Mncube the 28-year-old who beat Chipezeze with 10 minutes left to make it a 4-0 win over a hapless Baroka side.

The result moved Babina Noko up to sixth place on the league standings with 28 points while Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele remained 16th on the log after recording their 11th defeat of the season in the competition.

In the end, Babina Noko was able to secure a clean sheet victory together with maximum points.
