Two teams who will compete in the Nedbank Cup final which is set to take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria have been confirmed, Orlando Pirates Football Club will be up against Sekhukhune United Football Club.
The draw to decide which team will be the host on the 27th of May 2023 was held immediately after the conclusion of the second semi-finals fixture between Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United FC on Sunday night at Danie Craven Stadium in Cape Town, this comes after Babina Noko defeated The Stellies 3 – 4 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in normal time.
It was a significant and highly entertaining match for the fans in attendance. It was an opportunity for a first major final qualification, for the participating.
Both teams started like a house on fire in the first opening minutes of the game pushing for an early goal, it was however the hosts who exerted more pressure.

Towards the end of the second half, both teams pushed for a goal but failed to convert any of the chances created. The match ended in a 0-0 draw in regulation time, 30 minutes of extra time was afforded to the match without any success, and the deadlock was broken in the dreaded penalty shootout.
Goalkeeper Mtsweni introduced late, proved to be the hero making 2 important saves to help Babina Noko book a spot in the Nedbank Cup Finals.
