The last fixture for Babina Noko was a heartbreaking draw in the DSTV Premiership on Wednesday against TS Galaxy at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
It will be the first appearance in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, having been eliminated in the round of last 32 for 2 successive seasons.
Sekhukhune United advanced to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup following an impressive 2-1 win over Chippa United on the 15 April 2022 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium courtesy of goals from Elias Mokwana and Chibuike Ohizu.
Both teams have now met twice this season in the league campaign, however it will be the fifth competitive fixture between Babina Noko and The Stellies. The visitors last played against Stellenbosch in a league match on the 14th January 2023 at Danie Craven Stadium and the match ended in a 1-0 win with Chibuike Ohizu’s goal in the first half.
Babina Noko is set to be without attacking midfielder Rodrick Kabwe and Goalkeeper Toaster Nsabatha due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Defender Edwin Gyimah is likely to be available for selection after missing the previous game due to one-match suspension.
The question remains: will Babina Noko be able to advance to the finals of the Nedbank Cup for the first time?
