Babina Noko drop points at home

Kaizer Chiefs managed to get a victory over Sekhukhune United following their 1-0 win over Babina Noko in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon at Emirates Airline Park stadium.

The visitors managed to get three corners in the opening two minutes of the game, as Amakhosi attempted to lay down the marker early on.

Sekhukhune United managed to create a couple of chances, with Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma summoned to make his first save of the match.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele opened the scoring for Amakhosi in the 37th minute of the game, after he capitalised on Edwin Gyimah’s miscued header inside the area.

Babina Noko was able to see out a late push with the closest header from Charlton Mashumba just before the halftime break.

The second half saw the Glamour Boys enjoy large spells of possession, while Babina Noko rang the changes during the first 10 minutes of the second half.

In the 71st minute of the second half second-half substitute, Prince Nxumalo nearly drew one back for the home side but he was unlucky. Both teams continued to generate chances, however, none troubled the goalkeepers.

Sekhukhune pushed for an equaliser, but it was Kaizer Chiefs who managed to secure three points.

Sekhukhune United FC will be traveling to Polokwane in their next DStv Premiership action on Saturday 21st May where they will be playing against Marumo Gallants FC at New Peter Mokaba Stadium at 15:00.
