Babina Noko shifts focus to DSTV premiership league matches

After Qualifying for the Nedbank Cup last 16, Sekhukhune United Football Club shifts its focus to the forthcoming DSTV Premiership football.

With the DStv Premiership fixtures underway this weekend, Babina Noko is confident that the momentum and form of January will be maintained.

Babina Noko will kick off the Saturday afternoon fixture against Richards Bay at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium, with the view of attaining maximum points.

The boys will look to impress Head Coach Brandon Truter, who demands excellence in every game.

The last time Babina Noko played at home was on the 8th of February 2023, when the visitors were hammered 6 – 0 in the Nedbank last 32.

In the previous three home league games, Sekhukhune United managed to collect Seven points with a draw against AmaZulu and wins against Marumo Gallants & Swallows respectively.

Babina Noko is now in 7th position in the Log standings with 24 points from 19 games, while The Natal Rich Boyz is in third position with 31 points from the same number of matches.

Babina Noko last met The Natal Rich Boyz on the 13th of August 2023, and the match ended in a 1-0 defeat at the King Zwelithini Stadium, with Yanela Mbuthuma’s goal.

Coach Truter revealed that “he trusts his boys and knows that they will do better in this encounter and believes the boys will manage to collect maximum points against The Natal Rich Boyz”.

The game promises to be an interesting affair, Babina Noko will look to bounce back from the recent consecutive away losses, with a good showing to preserve a good home record.
