Babina Noko travels to The Mother City to face The Citizens

Sekhukhune United Football Club will be traveling to Cape Town for their next DStv Premiership assignment against Cape Town City FC at Athlone Stadium this Tuesday.  The Kick-off for this encounter will be at 19h30.

Babina Noko will be looking to collect maximum points away from home and improve on their previous results.

SKUFC has claimed 1 point from 3 away matches so far this season. They have also picked up a total of one (1) point in their previous three league matches, against Royal AM, Swallows FC, and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively, which puts them in the 15th position in the DStv Premiership Log standings with 5 points from 6 matches while The Citizens are on the 9th position with 8 points from 7 matches. Three points separate these teams in the DStv Premiership league Log standings.

The Citizen managed to collect three points away from home against TS Galaxy FC on Saturday. With a valuable three points on offer, both sides are expected to come out firing.

Babina Noko is desperate for a turnaround in fortunes after they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the preceding game against Royal AM at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

It will be the third competitive encounter between the teams.  Sekhukhune United last played against Cape Town City last season where both teams managed to collect three points respectively: first round on the 16th of October 2021 Babina Noko attained victory of 1-0 courtesy of Chibuike Ohizu’s 49th-minute goal while in the second round 05 March 2022 Cape Town City 2 (Martin 2′, Mayo 42′)-1 Sekhukhune United (Maart 18′).

Babina Noko captain, Linda Mntambo indicated that the mood in the camp is high as players are looking forward to turning a new leaf. Players in the training sessions are prepared to turn the table around. He further indicated that they are going to fight hard to redeem their pride against The Citizens. He cautioned that they would only collect maximum points if they put in more selfless efforts than they have been doing during training sessions.
