Babina Noko will be hosting Amakhosi on Sunday

Sekhukhune United Football Club will be back at home for the DSTV Premiership league action this Sunday afternoon and will be hosting Kaizer Chiefs FC at The New Peter Mokaba in Polokwane. Kick-off for this encounter is at 15h00

Babina Noko ooze confidence after qualifying for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals last week Sunday after beating Chippa United 2-1 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

This season Babina Noko has a decent record against Soweto teams. They won both games against Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and only suffered a defeat against Swallows FC in the first-round encounter respectively.

With 12 DSTV league games in The New Peter Mokaba Stadium under their belt, Babina Noko has managed to accumulate 22 points.

This is a second-round encounter between Babina Noko and Amakhosi.  Both teams last met on the 07th of January 2023, where Babina Noko accumulated maximum points courtesy of Vusimuzi Mncube’s goal in the 48th minute.

The last time Babina Noko played at home was on the 8th of April 2023 when they won 1-0 against Maritzburg United FC.

Nine points have separated the 2 teams in the DStv Premiership league Log standings. The home team is in 7th position with 32 points from 25 matches while Amakhosi are in 4th with 41 points from the same number of games.

Babina Noko Defender Daniel Cardoso indicated that “they are looking forward to Sunday’s game and want to continue winning games more than anything.

Cardoso concluded that as a team, it is going to be very important to finish in a respectable position”.
