Chippa United managed to get a victory over Sekhukhune United following their 1-0 win in the DStv Premiership match on Tuesday evening at Chatsworth stadium in Durban.
The visitors managed to get a free kick in a dangerous position in the opening two minutes of the game, in the 10th minute Sekhukhune United managed to create a couple of chances, with The Chilli Boys’ goalkeeper Loydt Kazapua summoned to make his first save of the match, as Babina Noko attempted to lay down the marker early on.
However, it was The Chilli Boys who opened the scoring through Etiosa Ighodaro in the 27th minute of the game. Babina Noko’s closest chance fell on the header of Nyiko Mobbie just before the halftime break.
The second half saw Babina Noko enjoy large spells of possession, while Head Coach Kaitano Tembo rang the changes during the early part of the second half, 71 minutes into the second half Victor Letsoalo nearly drew one back for the visitors’ side but he was unlucky. Both teams continued to generate chances, without troubling the goalkeepers.
Sekhukhune pushed for an equalizer; however, it was The Chilli Boys who managed to secure the three points.
Sekhukhune United will travel to Mbombela in their next DStv Premiership action on Sunday 30th October 2022 where they will be playing against TS Galaxy FC at Mbombela Stadium at 15:30.
