Ntiya-Ntiya’s thunderous strike secures 3 valuable points

Sekhukhune United Football Club grind out a 1-0 win to overcome Swallows FC at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday evening to register the fourth home victory in the DStv Premiership. It was an identical scoreline to the previous outing in the DStv Premiership.

Both teams showed a lot of attacking intent from the onset and there were chances galore at either end of the pitch in the first half.

Early on, Babina Noko looked hungrier and was impressive in ball retention, maintaining possession for a big chunk of the first Five minutes,14th minute into the first half Rodrick Kabwe got what could have been Babina Noko’s first goal on target inside the box but he was unlucky.

Chances kept on coming for Babina Noko, 32nd minute into the first half free kick was awarded to the host in a dangerous position, Tlotlo Leepile’s shot was blocked by the wall of Maswaiswai.

The first half deteriorated into more of a physical affair towards the end, and it was goalless at halftime.

A reward for Babina Noko came in the 62nd minute when Siphosakhe Ntiya Ntiya thunderous long-range made it 1- 0, it was his first goal of the league this season which fired Babina Noko up to fifth on the 2022/23 log standings with 24 points while Maswaiswai dropped down to the 14th spot, and are now winless in their two matches.

The Birds were pushing for an equalizer after a brilliant cross from Mwape Musonda but it went straight into Badra Ali Sangare’s gloves.

Babina Noko continued to knock on Maswaiswai’s door as they looked to get a second goal when Victor Letsoalo found Elias Mokwana, but Thakasani Mbanjwa pulled off a brilliant save from point-blank range.

Babina Noko will now return to action next week Saturday with a visit to Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium, Pretoria 15:30.
