SuperSport United FC maintains momentum with victory over Babina Noko

Sekhukhune United Football Club stumbled in Tshwane, where they suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Supersport United Football Club at Lucas Moripe Stadium, Tshwane on Friday night in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

Babina Noko went into the clash in high confidence after their victory against Orlando Pirates FC at home during the week.

The hosts dominated the remainder of the half with the goals coming from Bradley Grobler and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Thamsanqa Gabuza rounding off the scoring after the break.

There was an opportunity for Sekhukhune United in the 31st minute when Vusimuzi Mncube got a chance to find the net, but his shot went across the bar.

The visitors found the back of the net from the effort of attacker Thamsanqa Masiya.

In search of the second, the visitors pressed the hosts in their own half, but chances to dent the deficit even further were rare.

Sekhukhune improved in the second half after Victor Letsoalo forced Ricardo Goss into a good save with a powerful drive from range in the 77th minute.

In the dying minutes of the game, a free kick was awarded to the visitors in a promising position and they made nothing from it.

This win sees United maintain their third spot on the log. While Babina Noko remains fourth from the bottom in the standings.

Sekhukhune United Football Club will be travelling to KwaZulu Natal for their next DStv Premiership assignment against Chippa United at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, Tuesday afternoon. Kick-off for this encounter will be at 17h00.
