Sekhukhune United FC and TS Sporting played out to a thrilling 1-1 draw in their GladAfrica Championship match at Kabokweni Stadium on Wednesday evening.

McClive Phiri broke the deadlock for Babina Noko when he scored from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute. Shortly after taking the lead, visitors created chances to increase the lead, however, they were unfortunate in the quest.

A chance fell to Siyabulela Shai who saw his long-range shot blocked by Abathu Bemthetho’s goalkeeper Abram Ngcobo.

Kamohelo Sithole grabbed the equalizing goal for Abantu Bemthetho in the 81st minute, after a close-range shot that beat Tapuwa Kapini.

This result leaves three teams within two points of league leaders Richards Bay FC in a full round of fixtures stretched over Tuesday and Wednesday.

In other crucial fixtures, the Natal Rich Boyz suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Free State Stars, but remain top of the standings – two points clear of Sekhukhune United

It was a good point for Abantu Bemthetho who came back from a goal down to remain two points behind Babina Noko.
