Chippa United vs Sekhukhune United FC

With only one game remaining before Christmas break, the next stop for Sekhukhune United Football Club is at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Gqeberha where Chippa United FC lie in wait for their second round DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening. Kick-off for this encounter will be at 17:00.

Sekhukhune United Football Club failed to collect maximum points in their preceding away game against Kaizer Chiefs three weeks ago, the question is will Babina Noko be able to bounce back when they face a team that haven’t lost in their two previous league matches?

The focus for both teams is on getting three points. This is a second clash between these sides. Babina Noko and The Chilli Boys last met in August which was SKUFC debut in the DSTV Premier League which ended in a 1-0 defeat to Babina Noko courtesy of Veluyeke Zulu’s goal in the 14th minute of the first half at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.

The Chilli Boys’s morale is high after a 2-0 victory away against Maritzburg United FC at Harry Gwala Stadium this past Sunday, while Babina Noko played to a 0-0 stalemate against SuperSport United FC at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday.

Babina Noko have accumulated twelve (12) points from eight (8) away games so far this season which is four (4) victories and four (4) defeats.

Sekhukhune United FC are currently in 7th position in the DStv Premiership table after amass 24 points from 16 games, while The Chilli Boys are in 13th position with 15 points accumulated from same number of games. Babina Noko are nine (9) points ahead of The Chilli Boys in the DStv Premiership League Log standings.

Babina Noko striker Charlton Mashumba said “we didn’t manage to get the desired three (3) points on Saturday evening against SuperSport United but we took some positives from that game. We were just unlucky not to get a goal or two but we are full of enthusiasm moving forward. The energy and mood in the camp is very high.  Our desire is to finish this year on a happy note. We are going to Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to fight, though It is not going to be easy but we will give our best to make sure that we return back with maximum points”
