Royal AM bag maximum pointS

Sekhukhune United Football Club stumbled in Durban where they suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday evening in the DSTV Premiership Match.

Babina Noko came into the match having lost to Cape Town City at home and was looking to get back to winning ways.

The match started with a high tempo with both teams giving their all and determined to grab an early goal but neither team able to convert their scoring opportunities. Chances continued to come for the home team as they applied pressure on the visitors but were unable to find the net.

Babina Noko was awarded a free kick 38 minutes into the first half, just a few meters away from the Royal AM penalty area, but Rodrick Kabwe’s shot was blocked by the visitors’ wall.

Thwihli Thwahla managed to break the deadlock in the 44th minute when Thabo Matlaba scored with a low shot to make it 1-0 for Royal AM.

Babina Noko finished the match stronger than Royal AM as they camped inside the host‘s half looking to create more chances for a quick equalizer.

Vusimunzi Mncube managed to maintain possession despite close attention from the defense but he was denied an opportunity to shoot at goal.

Kabwe was denied a close-range shot that hit the woodwork with keeper Hugo Nyame well-beaten.

In pursuit of an equalizer, Babina Noko was caught on a break with a neat finish from Ruzaigh Gamildien who secured maximum points for Royal AM.
