Sekhukhune United Football Club returns to action this week, as they welcome the newly crowned DStv Premiership League Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their DSTV premiership encounter on Tuesday,17:30 at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg.

Babina Noko is desperate for a turnaround in fortunes after not managing to achieve any victory in their last seven league games. Babina Noko has now collected three (3) points in their last seven games. Meanwhile, they failed to collect maximum points at home in the previous DSTV Premiership fixture where they suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of TS Galaxy at Makhulong Stadium, Tembisa.

While Masandawana is fresh off qualifying for a Nedbank cup final after beating Royal AM  2-1 away at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday evening.

Babina Noko has accumulated sixteen (16) points from eleven (11) previous home league matches. They will be facing Sundowns, who are in the first position on the DSTV Premiership League log standings. Masandawana is ahead of Babina Noko by twenty-seven (27) points from 26 matches while Babina Noko is currently in the 10th position on the DStv Premiership log standings with 31 points from the same number of games.

It will be the second meeting between these sides. Masandawana met Babina Noko on the  27th of November 2021 at ABSA Tuks Stadium in Pretoria during the first-round match of the 2021/22 DSTV premiership. Masandawana attained victory courtesy of Neo Maema’s goal in the 20th minute and Themba Zwane’s penalty goal in the 59th minute, respectively.

Babina Noko defender, Edwin Gyimah indicated that it is going to be a tough encounter given the magnitude of the game, but the players are looking forward to Tuesday’s game. Babina Noko is looking forward to doing better after a string of poor results.  The results against Golden Arrows have boosted the team to push harder going forward. The players are motivated but they will show respect to Mamelodi Sundowns for the fact that they have assembled a quality side with a good number of experienced players that have assisted the team to achieve five consecutive DStv Premiership League Championships.

Babina Noko will play according to the coach’s tactical instructions to turn the table around.  The team will want to get a win against the current DStv Premiership League Champions, Gyimah concluded.
