Sekhukhune United FC vs Supersport United FC

Sekhukhune United Football Club will look to bounce back after being stunned by Kaizer Chiefs in their previous DSTV Premier League game at FNB Stadium on Sunday evening, where they were crashed to a 2-0 defeat.

Babina Noko will be welcoming Supersport FC for their second round in the DStv Premiership encounter this Saturday evening at Emirates Airline Park Stadium in Johannesburg at 18:00.

Both sides are desperate for a turnaround in fortunes after losing their previous games. Babina Noko has now lost two games in a row against Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs, respectively.  Matsatsantsa a Pitori suffered a 1-0 defeat against their rival, Mamelodi Sundowns in a thrilling Tshwane derby, played at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday night.

It will be the second meeting between these sides. The two teams FC and met two weeks ago in the first-round match of the 2021/22 DSTV premiership where Babina Noko walked away with a victory courtesy of Tshediso Patjie’s solitary goal.

In their last three previous home league matches Sekhukhune United FC have managed to collect six points (win against Royal AM and AmaZulu, lose against Marumo Gallants)

Babina Noko influential midfielder Vusumuzi “Skheshe” Mncube who was dismissed against Supersport United, will be back to strengthen the team.  

Babina Noko are currently in the sixth position on the DStv Premiership log with 23 points from 15 games while Supersport are in the 7th position with 22 points from same number of matches and a point has separated the two teams in the DStv Premiership league Log standings.

Babino Noko midfielder Katlego Molaba revealed that it is best that Babina Noko does not panic against Supersport United citing that it will be good for the team to adhere to the technical team instructions. The last two defeats against Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs cannot be used as benchmark to define the team. They are confident to achieve positive results going forward. The senior players have been in this situation before. They have brought experience as well as inspiration to the young players in the team.

Katlego Molabo concluded that positive attitude, diligent and determination will bring positive results against Supersport United.
